**All Z Club Girls**      Z Club will be meeting TODAY during lunch in the West Gym.  We will be having pizza and candy while we discuss our last fun event of the year!!!  Don't miss this meeting.

 

Six members of The Marshfield Times newspaper staff, including Markus Boesl, Jake Crump, Austin Hall, Tyler Klein, Mike Millan and Reine Pavlik, just returned from Phoenix, Arizona where they participated in the national high school journalism convention.  While there they entered one of the staff's newspapers in the Best of Show competition.  The paper earned 7th place.  This is the second year in a row that the newspaper staff has placed in the top 10 and earned national recognition.  Way to go Pirate journalists.  You represented MHS well.

 

In honor of National Library Week (April 18-24) the MHS library is giving a roll of  Smarties to every student who comes in during the week and checks out a book.  Some rules apply – Mrs. Christensen (4/21-24)

 

NEW CLUB:  MHS Guys & Dolls will be meeting on Tuesdays and Thursday in the dance room 3:40-5:00 pm , beginning April 21st.   Show up and learn different swing and ballroom dances:  the Balboa, Lindy-hop, Waltz and many others. No previous dance experience required.  See Mrs. Brown for additional information    (4/21-30)

 

SENIORS:     See Mrs. Landrum before school or during lunch to pick up your Jostens order if you have not done so.  See Mrs. Harrington in the main office to pick up graduation ticket information and walking partner forms.  (4/20-24)

 

Juniors - The Naval ROTC will be in the library on Tuesday, April 29th during lunch.  Those that are interested should sign up in student services. (Coun., April 28th)

 

OSU College of Pharmacy will be holding an open house on Friday, May 8th at 3:30pm.  This is an ideal opportunity for prospective students who may have an interest in a pharmacy career and/or applying to OSU's pharmacy program. (Coun., May 8)

Potential National Honor Society members!  If you received a notice about National Honor Society you must attend a meeting with Mrs. Danielson on Monday or Tuesday of this week to learn more about how members are selected.  Meetings are held before school, at lunch, and after school.  (Danielson 4/21)

Earth Day is Wednesday, April 22!!!  All National Honor Society members, Key Club members, and their friends are encouraged to meet in front of the Main Office after school today for a campus clean up.  Gloves and bags will be provided, and we should be done in about an hour.   (Danielson  4/20 - 4/22)

 

PEACEJAM students are having a giveaway of reusable bays during lunch today.  The first 200 people will receive one.  “Good for our environment, good for us!”   Thanks to Fred Meyer and WalMart  (Yasana  4/22)

THIS THURSDAY ONE NIGHT ONLY! – DATE CORRECTION

"Art of Imagination" a magic and illusion show with big cats at the Egyptian Theater Thursday, April 9th at 7:00 pm.  Proceeds to help the local Hillah County Shrine Club helping local kids with free orthopedic and burn needs.  Admission for kids under 12 is FREE when accompanied by a parent. Teen tickets $6, adults $10. This is a great way to support the efforts of your local Shriners.
