Valentines Survey results will be on sale in the main hall at lunchtime on Thursday and Friday, Feb 12th & 13th.  The cost is $2.00….Bring your money and see who you are compatible with.2/13

 

 

Juniors and Seniors – there is a Prom Committee Meeting in Mrs. Danielson’s room PH504 at lunch TODAY.  We will be deciding on the prom theme so please attend!2/5

 

 

Engineers Week Dinner-Are you interested in learning about a high paying career in the Engineering or Surveying Fields? If you answered “YES”, we would like to invite you to the 3rd Annual Engineers Dinner to be held on February 17th at the Coos Bay Red Lion Hotel. Professionals and Post Secondary Schools will be presenting educational and occupational information as well as discussing opportunities face to face with students. Student and school staff dinners are FREE! Parent and community member dinners are $14.75. For more info and to reserve your space, contact Gary Wellbaum: garyw@coos-bay.k12.or.us, (541) 267-1489. Deadline for reservations is February 6th.

 

Students, there is a new group starting at Marshfield.  It will be called CVCS Youth Group.  Our first meeting will be February 11, at lunch.  We will be meeting in Room 211 with Pizza Provided.  Please come and see if you would like to join.2/11

Z Club ~

 

We will be meeting today during lunch in the West Gym girls locker room and will have pizza for you.  We will be talking about what's coming up;  Cookie making at Tiffany's, Girls Harding sleep over, Shadow day!!     ~ See you there!!! ~

 

§        50% of households receiving emergency food are families with children

§        36% of those who ate food from an emergency food box last year were children

§        Every $10 donated supplies a food box containing meals for a family for 3-5 days.

    This Friday February 6th Z Club will be teaming up with Oregon Youth Authority for a canned food drive during the girls and boys basketball game against Thurston High School.  Bring as many nonperishable items as you can and you will receive $1 off your admission to the game, help feed a hungry family and support your schools basketball teams!!!  What a deal!!  Tell your friends and family too, lets show Marshfield how much we support our teams and Coos Bay how we take care of our community!!!

    See you at the games!!!

Yahweh's Daughters will be meeting every Wednesday at lunch in PH600.  We will be discussing the question "Who is Jesus?". Bring your lunch, a Bible and a friend.  Every girl is welcome to join us!  Please remember to bring any Candy bar money and left over candy bars to the meeting.

 

ATHLETES

Boys Tennis Ladders are now available in Mrs. Reiber’s office.  Tennis players come get one so start practicing.  We will be having open court time this Saturday from 3:PM – 4:45 PM at Southwestern’s court.  Come join us to get ready for this tennis season.2/6 

 

STUDENTS:  Spring sports are starting soon.  If you are interested in playing baseball, softball, tennis, golf or participating in the Track team please come get your gold card by February 23rd.  Come to the athletic office located in the main building with the Dean’s office.  For questions about spring sports come talk to Mrs. Reiber.  GO PIRATES!2/24

 

 

All girls interested in Playing Tennis this Spring we will start have preseason conditioning beginning today (Wednesday the 21st) at 3:30 PM in the Fitness Center. Conditioning will be on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays!

Talent Search/Upward Bound Juniors and Seniors: There will be a college visit to Western Oregon University in Monmouth on Saturday, Feb. 14th. Please see Mr. Winberg or Mr. Finney in room 137 to get a permission slip.2/13

 

 

Counselors are available during study hall/advisory time to help seniors with scholarships and college applications.  If students are interested they need to make an appointment with their counselor.

 

College bound Seniors: Talent Search Coordinator, Neil Winberg, will be in his office (room 137) after school on Mondays through Thursdays until 4:30 pm. He would be happy to help answer any questions or provide advice concerning college applications, FAFSA, or scholarships. 2/15

 

Seniors wanting scholarships and/or applying to colleges should attend one of the financial aid sessions in the MHS library computer lab.  Students will need to bring a completed FAFSA worksheet.  Staff members will be able to assist students in the filing process on:

Attention all Sophomores and Juniors, who took the PSAT but did not attend the Score Report Workshop yesterday.  You can pick up your Score Report and your Test booklet in Student Services at your earliest convenience.  Make sure you pick up the Explanation sheet, the Quick Start guide sheet and the Parent Tutorial sheet as well.  If you would like assistance interpreting your score make an appointment to meet with your counselor.1/30
