Students: Applications are now available for students interested in becoming part of the 2009-2010 Marshfield Times newspaper staff.  See Mrs. Hampton in Room 143 if you would like to pick up an application.  Completed applications will be due Thursday, Feb. 19.2/19

 

Oregon Coast Community Action is a nonprofit network of programs that feed, house, warm and educate people. The Court Appointed Special Advocates, CASA is one of our programs we sponsor.  We will be having a fundraiser selling used toys.   This will be the “Toy Tales” sale.  If you would like to help or need more information please call Becky Yaeger at 888-7436

 

Engineers Week Dinner-Are you interested in learning about a high paying career in the Engineering or Surveying Fields? If you answered “YES”, we would like to invite you to the 3rd Annual Engineers Dinner to be held on February 17th at the Coos Bay Red Lion Hotel. Professionals and Post Secondary Schools will be presenting educational and occupational information as well as discussing opportunities face to face with students. Counselors will be available in the library computer lab during advisory/study hall on Feb. 12, & 26 to help seniors with college applications and scholarship applications.  See Mrs. Wilson in student services for a pass.2/26

 

 

 CLUB 

NAYA Members:

Our next NAYA meeting is February 23, 09.  Please plan on attending the meeting- spring outings are in the forecast!

Yahweh's Daughters will be meeting every Wednesday at lunch in PH600.  We will be discussing the question "Who is Jesus?". Bring your lunch, a Bible and a friend.  Every girl is welcome to join us!  Please remember to bring any Candy bar money and left over candy bars to the meeting.

 

ATHLETES

 

STUDENTS:  Spring sports are starting soon.  If you are interested in playing baseball, softball, tennis, golf or participating in the Track team please come get your gold card by February 23rd.  Come to the athletic office located in the main building with the Dean’s office.  For questions about spring sports come talk to Mrs. Reiber.  GO PIRATES!2/24

 

 

All girls interested in Playing Tennis this Spring we will start have preseason conditioning beginning today (Wednesday the 21st) at 3:30 PM in the Fitness Center. Conditioning will be on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays!

"Preseason workouts for Pirate track and field have begun.  The coaches and captains invite all interested Marshfield students to join the workouts, learn an event, and become part of a great tradition.  No previous experience required.  Meet under the stands at the stadium Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 3:30 to 5:00 pm."   .Meet under the stands, rain or shine ...1/30

COLLEGES

 

Talent Search & Upward Bound females: We will be taking a trip to Western Oregon University to participate in Sonia Kovalevsky Mathematics Day. The goal of the event is to get more high school girls interested in math through fun and challenging hands-on sessions. Students can win prizes, including $500 scholarships to WOU. The date of the event is Saturday, Feb. 21st. Come see Mr. Winberg or Mr. Finney for a permission slip.2/21

 

Counselors are available during study hall/advisory time to help seniors with scholarships and college applications.  If students are interested they need to make an appointment with their counselor.

 

College bound Seniors: Talent Search Coordinator, Neil Winberg, will be in his office (room 137) after school on Mondays through Thursdays until 4:30 pm. He would be happy to help answer any questions or provide advice concerning college applications, FAFSA, or scholarships. 2/15
