 The 8th Annual Coos Bay/North Bend Bus Jam is just around the corner.  Bus Jam is a one-day collection of new toys and non-perishable foods to help Coos County families in need.  Donations are stuffed on busses located at the Coos Bay and North Bend Bi-Mart Stores (Saturday, Dec 5th from 10am-3pm).

On Friday, December 5, 2009 Miss Coos County's Outstanding Teen Program will be holding its annual Teen Boot Camp on the SWOCC campus in Empire Hall upstairs in LVE. It will be an all day camp covering every aspect of the program including:

 

 Program requirements and deadlines

 

 Preparation for competition

 

 A complete look at our scholarship program

 

 The opportunity to meet girls your age who share your desire in bettering themselves through competition for scholarship money you can access when you graduate

 

 Lunch, snacks, a t-shirt, and special guests

 

In order to compete in our annual pageant, you must complete the Boot Camp. The cost of the camp is $200.00. The money generated goes directly into the scholarship fund. We encourage you to find a sponsor for your camp fee. Deadline for registration is December 4th. If you do not already have a registration form, one can be obtained by emailing Maureen Everetts at stinkeyemom@hotmail.com

The Director of "The Wizard of Oz", Byrell Justice, has announced that tryouts will be
December 7th, 8th and 10th, 2009.  (Monday, Tuesday and Thursday). (No auditions Thursday because the theatre is booked).

EVERY ROLE IN THIS PLAY IS AVAILABLE!
NOTHING HAS BEEN PRE-CAST!!

Tryout Requirements:

Everyone wanting to audition for a principle character (Dorothy, Glenda, Scarecrow, Tin Man, Cowardly Lion, Wicked Witch of the West, and the Wizard) needs to come with a two minute, memorized monologue.

The Health Department will be here T O D A Y, Thursday, November 19th, in the Marshfield cafeteria, to administer H1N1 (swine flu) vaccines from noon to 2:30 pm. Only students that have a signed consent form on file will be immunized on this day. If you previously turned in a consent form and you have already received your H1N1 vaccine, please notify the main office. Otherwise, 3rd or4th period teachers will direct students to report to the cafeteria at a certain time.

If you need help to quit smoking, there will be a class offering incentive, information and support!  The cost for 8 classes is $15 and these classes will cover court requirements.  The first class will be on Wednesday, November 18 and will continue every Wednesday through January 20th and be held during 2nd/6th blocks.  You can sign up in the Dean’s office.

Hi to all prosepective teen contestants,
 
We will be conducting a Pageant Boot Camp on November 21,2009. The exact location has yet to be confirmed. TUESDAY NIGHT MR. MHS DODGE BALL TOURNAMENT in the Main gym beginning 7:00pm.   Mr. MHS contestants will play against MHS staff members.  Cost is $2/person and the proceeds will be donated to local charity.

If you need help to quit smoking, there will be a class offering incentive, information and support!  The cost for 8 classes is $15 and these classes will cover court requirements.  The first class will be on Wednesday, November 18 and will continue every Wednesday through January 20th and be held during 2nd/6th blocks.  You can sign up in the Dean’s office.

This months Key Club meeting has been changed to Thursday Nov. 19th to accommodate a Mr.. MHS meeting. It is scheduled to be at 11, lunch, in room 133, by the student services area. Annual dues need to be collected at this meeting. Also, we will be presenting our T-Shirt logo. Any questions please call Susan Nauman, ext. 490, or contact Dez Dixon, President.

The Health Department will be here on Thursday, November 19th, in the Marshfield cafeteria, to administer H1N1 (swine flu) vaccines from noon to 2:30 pm.  Only students that have a signed consent form at school will be immunized on that day.  If you previously turned in a consent form and you have already received an H1N1 vaccine, please notify the main office.  On that day, 3rd and 4th period teachers will direct students to report to the cafeteria at a certain time.

Talent Search Freshmen and Sophomores will be taking a trip to the Hatfield Marine and Science Center in Newport on Monday, November 23rd. The purpose of the trip is to learn about marine studies and careers in science. Space is limited, so see Mr. Winberg in room 137 for a permission slip. (run through 11/20)

Hi to all prosepective teen contestants,
 
We will be conducting a Pageant Boot Camp on November 21,2009. The exact location has yet to be confirmed. It will be an all day camp covering all areas of competition,preparation for competing,a complete inside look at our scholarship program,special guests,the opportunity to meet girls your age who share your desire in bettering themselves and compete for scholarship money for college,that you can access when you graduate. In order to compete, you must complete the Boot Camp. The cost of the camp is $200.00. The money generated from this camp goes directly into our scholarship account to go towards your scholarships. We encourage you to get sponsors for the camp fee.  The day will also include lunch,snacks and a t-shirt. Pre-resgistration is required. Deadline for registration is November 18th.
