JOSTENS FOR SENIORS:  Jostens has had to reschedule….they will NOT BE HERE TODAY AS PLANNED, they have rescheduled for next week on Thursday the 16th

You will be able to pick up your Jostens’ graduation order, tickets and walking partner forms on that date in the room behind the main office during your US Studies class.  If you are not here on Thursday, see Mrs. Landrum before school or during lunch the next week.  (4/9-16)

 

The American Red Cross will be in the Main Gym TODAY for the blood drive.  Donors will be given a note to leave class and will sign in so we can track their absence.  You need to remember to bring some kind of picture ID with you….    (Bunnell, 4/1-8)

 

Congratulations to senior Andy Rossback, juniors Andrew Davidson and Mike Millan and sophomore Jake Crump who represented MHS at Southwestern's Math and Skills Day in a journalism contest last Thursday.  The four-man team interviewed, wrote about and photographed the event, culminating in a newspaper page they designed about Skills Day in just under four hours and earned FIRST place for their finished product.  Each of them won a three credit tuition waiver and represented MHS very well.

THIS FRIDAY ONE NIGHT ONLY!

"Art of Imagination" a magic and illusion show with big cats at the Egyptian Theater Friday, April 9th at 7:00 pm.  Proceeds to help the local Hillah County Shrine Club helping local kids with free orthopedic and burn needs.  Admission for kids under 12 is FREE when accompanied by a parent. Teen tickets $6, adults $10. This is a great way to support the efforts of your local Shriners.  (Jacobson 4/8-9)

 

 

Seniors:  Students wishing to represent the Class of 2009 by speaking at graduation should pick up a commencement speech information sheet from Mr. Parrish.  Selection of senior graduation speakers  is scheduled for April 22 in Mr. Parrish's room (240) at 3:30.   (Patnode, 4/7-9,13-16, 20-22)

 

Dance Team tryouts will take place April 14-17 in the Main Gym at Marshfield High School.  The will be an information meeting in Mrs. Brown's room at lunch on Wednesday April 8.  If you are unable to attend this meeting come see Mrs. Brown in room 250 main.  (4/7-8)

 

LOOKING FOR A SUMMER JOB????  Coos Forest Protective Association has openings for the summer.  Applicants must be 16 years of age or older and positions are open throughout Coos and Curry country.  For more information, see the flyer posted in the window of the main office.    (Harrington, 4/6-10)

 

Attention JUNIORS and SENIORS:  Prom is scheduled on May 16th in the Main Gym from 8:00-11:30pm.  The theme is Midnight Sky, and the cost is $30/couples and $20/singles.  If you wish to bring a date that is not a MHS student you must apply for a visitors pass through the Dean’s office before the 15th of May.  Tickets will go on sale the week of the prom during lunch.   (Bunnell, 4/1-20)

 

Talent Search Freshmen and Sophomores: There is a trip on Friday, April 10th, to the wave research institute at Oregon State University. If you want to learn about tidal waves, ocean sciences, or are thinking about OSU science programs for college, get your permission slip in to room 137. (Winberg…through 4/9/09)

 

Talent Search Juniors and Seniors: There is a trip to Oregon Institute of Technology in Klamath Falls on April 17-18. Talent Search covers your meals and motel, so you don’t need cash to go. Get permission slips in office 137.  (Winberg…through 4/16/09)

 

AWARD WINNING CHILDREN’S AUTHOR, Deborah Hopkinson, will visit the Coos Bay Library on Wednesday, April 8, at 7pm.   She will talk about her children’s picture book, “Apples to Oregon, which has been selected as one of the three titles to be featured in “Oregon Reads 2009”.
